We are 10 miles north of Ullapool on the A835, turn left for a 15 mile drive past the mountains and lochs of Coigach including the rocky ridge of Stac Polly and follow the signs towards Achiltibuie until you reach a road junction overlooking the Summer Isles. Turn sharp right and follow the road along the shore past the pier at Badentarbat and up the hill to Polbain.
You will find us on the right after about half a mile.
If you are coming for a day trip Coigach has an excellent hotel, The Summer Isles Hotel, and bar, The Fuaran for lunches, or two well stocked shops for picnics and more. The Bothan at Badentarbat Pier also does coffes, teas, soups and traybakes on weekdays and is well worth a visit.
We have sandy beaches and way-marked paths and walking routes for all abilities, staff in the gallery are all local creatives and will be delighted to point you in the direction of where to watch wildlife, fish, swim, kayak or anything else!

This small adjoining hamlet from the parish of Coigach lies scattered on the hillside above the rocky coast and sandy coves. Boat trips to the Summer Isles are a popular excursion and visitors can enjoy a full range of other activities ranging from fishing and birdwatching to sailing and cliff climbing.
The village lies within 4 different areas of special landscape and marine designation or conservation including the Wester Ross National Scenic Area, the North West Highlands Geopark, the Wester Ross Biosphere Reserve and the Wester Ross Marine Protected Area.
Other local attractions include a new geology trail which covers a series of walks close to the village and provides a fascinating insight into the landscape and the history of the Earth.
The road north from Achiltibuie through Inverkirkaig is spectacular all the way, working its way through a rocky landscape of valleys and moorland, passing the peaks of Cul Beag, Cul Mor and the sugar-loaf-style Suilven.
